After many years of sewing and selling the things she made, Bess, a sucessful seamstress and crafter passed away. Her family decided to donate a portion of her fabrics and craft supplies to the Sebastopol Senior Day Program. This gift began a “legacy” that would create an ongoing opportunity in the community of Sebastopol.
In 1995, volunteers were organized to set up and run a local shop that would benefit what is now called the Sebastopol Area Senior Center.
We are located at 781 Gravenstein Hwy South. (In the Southpoint Shopping Center by McDonald’s).
The Legacy is open Monday-Saturday from 10am – 4pm except Thursdays, when we remain open until 6pm.
If these hours are difficult for you to get to (work 9-5?), perhaps we can arrange an after-hours shopping event for you and 5 of your friends. Leave a message for me at the store for special arrangements.
You will find almost everything you need to make clothes, costumes and beautiful crafts for your home and family. The Legacy is a great place to shop for school projects and holiday items.
“Like” the Legacy on Facebook where we have frequent updates about the donations and the goings-on at The Store.

I had to google the above address. I’m in canada and I got to your site clinking links on a few websites. SOO wish you were closer/ I LOVE the idea of your store and what it entails. I just read the story of the greiving husband/happy grandpa. I wish our “small town” thrift stores had your attitude!
Awww. Thank you. I know the Legacy is special. I’m merely a facilitator! Amazing things happen with the people that come here. Find us on Facebook and keep up with our goings on….
